Asinelli tower, built 9 century ago, is the tallest (96,2 meter) medieval tower in the world. You can climb it for 3 euro and gives the best view in Bologna. 498 steps so beware before you decide!

Bologna, the two towers. Tallest one is called "Asinelli's Tower" and was built to show to the city the power of the noble family who built it. It guards the city from above its 92 meters since 1109.

498 winding, aging steps to the top, and you'll think the whole way up "this can't be safe," which makes it all the more rewarding when you see the view from the top.

Torre Degli Assinelli only 3 euro for a doable stair climb to the top. Take pictures in some of the holes in the tower. Then grab a ton I shots of the city from above.

Here's the view from the top of its 92 meters. I guess it's worth to pay a visit and climb all its 498 steps, isn't it? ;-)
